I don’t know if I’ve written about it here, but for years I have maintained that Toby Keith doesn’t write songs, so much as he writes jingles. “America Soldier”, for example, could be an ad for the military. “American Ride” is made for SUVs and motorcycles.
But my strongest claim has always been that I Love this Bar is an ad for Applebee’s waiting to happen: looks like I was damn close.
