I think Anthony Weiner (thanks Susie) is on the right track. I’d go farther though. What NPR should do is send the Magliozzi Brothers out to confront the Republicans. They’re a buttload funnier than that demented, shit-covered walrus Rush Limbaugh, they’d make a mockery out of the likes of Eric Cantor, and they’d probably make friends among the misguided blue collar people in the “tea party”.
Sending out the Muppets is all well and good. But you gotta get the adults on board, and you gotta have people that can not only talk back, but do so in a way that’s engaging, sympathetic, and funny. Tom and Ray Magliozzi have that, in spades. Take ‘em off the bench!
