I have Changed My Mind.

I’ve changed my mind. A libertarian friend on facebook reminded me of the health care finger biter, and gave me a brief lecture on “moral authority”.

Sheriff’s Capt. Frank O’Hanlon says about 100 people were rallying for health care reform Wednesday night at a Thousand Oaks street corner, when one of them walked across the street to confront about 25 counter-protesters.

O’Hanlon says the two men got into an argument and fistfight, during which the pro-reformer bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man opposing health care reform.

I now realize, thanks to my libertarian friend, that 5 men knocking a weaker person to the ground and then holding that person down so they can’t fight back while being kicked and stomped on the head and neck is exactly the same thing as two people getting into a fight with no one intervening on either person’s side.

This changes my mind about so many things: first of all, how dare that woman be upset about being held down by five thugs Kentucky Gentlemen while being kicked in the head. It was a fair fight dammit.

I think we owe the Klan, the mob, and all of America’s street-gangs an apology for demonizing them: the fact is, when a multitude of people attack a lone victim, it’s the very definition of a fair fight. Listen up gay kids: no more whining about bullies, take your lumps like a man (or woman). get a bunch of your friends together if you want to defend yourself, and jump one of the so-called “bullies” when they’re alone. That’s what a fair fight is.
