Philly Cops Kill Retarded Teenager With Taser

A teen, who relatives say is mentally challenged, is dead after police used a Taser on him in Northeast Philadelphia.
18-year-old Patrick Johnson, a graduate of Our Lady of Confidence day school, was known in the neighborhood as ’stick boy’ because he was always playing or waving some kind of stick.
“He’s severely retarded. He was having a tantrum and my grandmother couldn’t handle him, so she called the police,” the teen’s cousin Michelle Rynkiewicz said.
Rynkiewicz says Johnson had the mind of a 7 or 5-year-old.
Relatives say Johnson had a history of volatile behavior and fits of anger and there was never a warning light that went off before it happened.
That’s when the police showed up, zapped him with 50,000 volts god only knows how many times, and killed him. The article doesn’t mention it, but there’s no way a cop is going to tell the truth about how many times he pulled the trigger, not when his job’s on the line. I’ve seen cops lie over far less important matters.

Alex, are you saying the people with special needs are life not worthy of life? How did you get picked to decide that? What are you basing this on? IQ alone? Do you remember what Abraham Lincoln said about race? Go back and check. The fact is you can apply it to IQ also. There is always going to be someone with a higher IQ than you. Does that make it right to take away your life because you might be garbage in someone else’s eyes? Shame on you Alex. Go spend a week volunteering at Special Olympics and learn to feel better about the world instead of hiding behind a laptop trashing the value of others.
