I’m Still Alive
Isn’t this the fucking shittiest, most pompous, self-absorbed music you’ve ever heard?
Holy fuck, I ALWAYS loathed Pearl Jam, and every other band of their ilk. I give Nirvana props, but mainly because Kurt Cobain had some degree of shame and blew his brains out for what happened next. The only goddamn band that came out of Seattle worth my time is Mudhoney, and I don’t give a rat’s ass if your mileage may vary.
So why did I put up this horrible, shitty, derivative, boring, over-testosteroned, whiny, contrived shit on my precious wonderful blog?
I dunno. Mainly to let you all know that I’m not dead, and that I’m still something of a punk-ass loudmouth, and that when I’m not so busy with other shit I’ll gt back to blogging.
Also:

I’ve been busy. talk to y’all soon, and sorry for the Pearl Jam. I hope it didn’t get stuck in your head, even though I know it did.

I never like that fucking shitty-assed grunge. But your fucking picture is too cute! Glad to see your okay.

Once you have to clarify the grunge thing to Sam and get into the dicey area of Pearl Jam (who, yes, were often terrible, but nowhere near as bad as far lesser, more poisonous copycats like Bush and Silverchair), I am sure you will be careful to cover the importance of Green River, which begat not only Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam but Mudhoney as well. You might also mention that Nirvana’s (final) drummer Dave Grohl was previously in Scream, who was interviewed by me and the Kinsellas for an article in Tourist Trap fanzine after their performance at the “final” punk show Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel. And you could mention that if Grohl hadn’t gotten the job with Nirvana, the next person in line happened to be a guy named Jim whose band The Bags was disbanding right around the time Kurt and Kris were holding auditions.

I might do that. the thing is, I never really listened to Green River ever. so i’d be hard-pressed to tell him how great they are (i’ll do some research today?)
I do remember grohl being in Scream, and I think i knew that about Janota, probably via you.

Wow. I haven’t heard that song in a while. This makes me un-nostalgic for the 90s.
But it’s not the most pretentious music I’ve ever heard. Rage Against The Machine comes to mind. As for awful steeped in banality from that era, Dave Matthews, Blues Traveler win, hands down.

@Alex: I would sooner blow a goat than listen to either of those bands
