Baby Henry: Adoption Complete
I just wanted to update the Baby Henry saga. I spent most of the weekend picking up my son and hanging out at my parents’ place, and although Christina was at home, I was a little concerned that the kitten might die in the interim. Luckily that wasn’t the case: when I got home around 7:00 PM last night, Baby Henry was right there on the back porch waiting for a meal. We’ve spent a lot of time conditioning the little guy to human touch, so when we picked him up from the pile of food and zipped him into a cat carrier, he didn’t really fight at all (the little hill of kibble we put in for him didn’t hurt.). In face, even with my other two cats looking in the carrier, Baby Henry didn’t really freak out.
I have to extend special thanks to Jim, Sarah, Phil, Alexandra, and Theresa, all total strangers who contributed funds (unsolicited, I might add) to Baby Henry’s vet fees, to which I added $25.00 of my own. We made a $164.00 check out the the PA SPCA for all of his shots, eye treatment, and anything else the kitty may need to get healthy (and I hope some extra toward spaying, which I think he’s a little too young for).
I got an email from his new family this morning: “He slept on the bigger cat under my son`s bed and my sons slept on the floor with them. We are at the vet now. He meows when the bigger cat left the room this morning.”
Glad to see he’s settling in, and that the cat he just met seems to like him already (even though they’re friends now, our Henry has never forgiven us for letting Elvis into the house).

Awww. It’s always good when a critter finds a loving home.
