Baby Henry Needs a Home and Visit to the Vet (UPDATED TWICE)
UPDATES BELOW
Living in our neighborhood are a few semi-feral cats who have kittens on a frighteningly regular basis. We’ve adopted two in the past year, inviting Henry, a grey tabby mix, into the house in January 2009, and bringing Little Elvis, an orange tabby mix who fit in the palm of my hand and was practically dead, inside in October. Currently, we’ve been feed a small family: I’ve never named the females, but a cat we call Elvis’s Brother is the father to Baby Little Elvis and Baby Henry, who look exactly like their namesakes.
Baby Little Elvis is doing quite well for himself as an outdoor cat, but Baby Henry is not. He (she?) has the same eye infection Little Elvis had when we adopted him. If left untreated, the kitten will go blind and die.
We have no more room for more cats in our house, so I’m looking for someone to adopt this plucky little kitty. We’ve actually done a bunch of the legwork already, getting the little cat used to human touch by petting him when we feed him. Contact me through comments, and PLEASE share this post with other people you know who love cats.
Baby Henry has the potential to be a real sweetie pie, but he needs a home and a visit to the vet, very badly. Look at the poor thing:
It makes me want to cry just looking at the poor little guy.
UPDATE: A couple people have asked me why i don’t get into contact with one of the many shelters in the city. unfortunately, our shelters are plagued with scandal, and I would much rather hand the kitten over to someone who really wants it, rather than to a faceless agency that may not be able to find it a home. the one agency I DO trust, City Kitties, says on their website that they are at capacity.
So I’m going the direct route. Drop me a line at bfskwire AT gmail DOT com if you wanna help a kitty out.
UPDATE 2: A nice young woman named Sarah has pledged $25.00 toward Baby Henry’s vet fees, which I’m matching. Another fellow, Jim from Nevada, has also offered to pitch in. ALL FUNDS WILL BE USED TO OFFSET ADOPTION EXPENSES, SO IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT BUT YOU’RE NOT SURE YOU CAN AFFORD THE TRIP TO THE VET, I HAVE AT LEAST $50 TO HELP OUT.

AAAAAH!!
How much were the meds/eye drops for the other cat? Maybe I can send you some money if it’s not too much.
Poor thing.
