Rahm Emmanuel, Architect of Victory!!!!

Also funny if it wasn’t so sad:

Emanuel hopes that by emphasizing energy in the fall, Democrats can attract more young voters to the polls. Generally, the share of the national vote coming from voters under 30 is a third lower in midterm congressional elections than in contests with presidential candidates on the ballot…

Of course, what shape that commitment to alternative energy takes is up for debate…. With cap-and-trade now all but dead, it’s likely that what Emanuel wants is an energy-only bill modeled on proposals by Sens. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) and Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) — and it’s questionable whether such a limited attempt to tackle the country’s energy problems will be enough to galvanize young voters.

if there’s anyone who inspires the youth, it’s Rahm Emmanuel. His message of hope, his clear-eyed, uncynical approach to politics, his deep respect for voters… the man has the Midas touch.

I’m still not sure how November works out when the unemployment rate is 10%, there’s no extension of unemployment benefits, the unions are angry and funding primaries, and the youth tend to stay home in off-year elections.

But hey, with Rahm’s steady hand at the tiller, we’re looking good! Maybe as good as 1994, when he last led the Democrats to… oh wait.
