Philadelphia Newspapers For Sale, But Philadelphia Newspapers Yawn At News

It’s 8:40 in the morning and I should be getting ready for work. Instead, I’m running late because I was listening to WHYY’s Sue Phillips do a fantastic piece on today’s auction, which will see the bankrupt Philadelphia Media Holdings sold off to the highest bidder. There’s a lot of worry that the papers will be gutted, the web presence further degraded, and even more concern that the Daily News may be shut down for good.
So you’d think this would be front page news, right?

OK, so maybe sports is the big focus at philly.com: if my survival was at stake, I’d make a bigger issue of it, but I’m not the paper’s web editor.
