Continued Blogcation
I’m still on blogcation, and it’s kind of awesome.
David Brooks wrote some truly idiotic shit this morning. I read about it at OTHER blogs, but refused to pollute my own mind with his shit-smearings, saving myself the outrage necessary to respond to it.
CNN apparently hired Erick Erickson, the moron who runs the Red State blog who refers to Justice david Souter as a “goat-fucking child molester”. bad decision by CNN, but i don’t have cable, so why should I give a fuck? If it wasn’t Erickson, it’d be Zombie Hitler or something (the difference between Erickson and Hitler is that Hitler was a vegetarian and had some artistic talent). Blogcation has saved me some peace of mind, since I don’t feel compelled to do anything but mention it in passing.
meanwhile the “health insurance reform” proceeds apace. it’s nothing like what Democrats expected: who knew the price of the Democrats’ marginal incremental changes around the edges, without so much as a public option to protect people from the abuses of multinational corporations that profit from denying people health care, would be throwing women in the garbage can and embracing a Republican-lite stance on reproductive health? Not me, that’s for sure, and that’s why i stopped paying attention a few months ago.
Here’s what’s on my mind: the yeast I re-used in the porter i wrote about below? it pretty much completed fermentation in ONE FUCKIN’ DAY! yeah, it’s still bubbling a little bit, but typically rigorous fermentation takes a day just to get started and then slows down gradually. This batch of yeast made like Cookie Monster -”NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM”- and ate everything in sight in an orgy of alcohol and CO2 production.
like my yeast, except blue with googly eyes
ALSO: i have trays of seedlings dying to get out of the house and into the soil. Cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, brussel sprouts. All going nuts and ready to be planted. Too bad they have a few weeks left; the peas, on the other hand, go out this Saturday.
ALSO: the Dill Pickles are playing Wilmington Wintergrass this Friday night. Click on the “showcase stage” link.
Good times, way better than blogging. This may be a permanent blogcation. It’s not like I plan on voting either.
Yeah, you heard me.
