My girlfriend puts her car radio on the top 40 pop station, and so I’ve been hearing all this stuff I ordinarily could care less about. Some of it is fucking annoying: if i ever get my hands on the person known as “Owl City” I am going to douse him in gasoline and set him on fire.
Lady Gaga is another thing entirely. I’ve been hearing her newest song,”Bad Romance” every single day, and I’ve gone from hating the hell out of it to turning on the station in hopes of hearing that crazy-ass ““Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah! Roma-roma-mamaa! Ga-ga-ooh-la-la” chant.
She (he? it?) is the funniest thing I’ve seen in pop music in a LONG time, provocative, shameless, hilarious.
I have no idea what the hell is going on in this video, but it’s pretty damn awesome. Also, what a tushie!

The same damn thing happened to me as a result of my daughter’s top 40 proclivities. She just grows on you. even ended up buying the damn CD. Finding out she has a decent musical education helped…

@maya: the musical education and actual talent really helps me like this. When i read her bio, i went from reluctantly enjoying gaga to thoroughly enjoying it.
I mean, she like Queen for cryin’ out loud, how awesome is that?

I escorted my teen to an “Owl City” concert recently. Ahhhhh, the things we do for love. I must be made of some pretty tough stuff ’cause I can still imagine worse. Love the Lady Gaga though. I saw her on Saturday Night Live not too long ago. She was great!
