More Unintended Consequences of My Number One Post

blogs, comedy, meme, meta, random, ridiculous October 19th, 2009

Back in March, I noted my number one post was my tribute to Meghan McCain’s breasts.

That’s funny enough. This weekend, it got even better.

As you’ve all noticed, I haven’t been blogging as much lately (something I wrote about earlier this month). So color me surprised when I looked at my sitemeter this saturday, typically one of the slower days for unique visits, and saw that by 11:00 AM or so, I had nearly 1000 hits! Most of them were coming from google’s image search, and the links were so long that sitemeter condensed them, making it hard to figure out the search terms. And everytime I clicked a link, it took me to google’s main page, sans search terms.

Who, or what, was driving this traffic?

Then, almost by accident, I noticed that if I let the mouse hover over the link, a bubble opened up with the search terms. And again, it was McCain’s boobs. See, late last week, Meghan caused quite the brouhaha with a photo on twitter in which her enormous funbags were practically popping out of her tank top.

My tribute to Meghan McCain’s boobs is now not only the number one post here at brendan calling: it’s the number one result Google retrieves for images of “meghan mccain boobs”.

That is my claim to fame. The world is my oyster (or at least a pair of D-cups)!
