Home Brew
We’re kegging tonight. It’s the first brew we’ve made in I don’t know how many months. It’s a brown ale with orange peel.
We used a bunch of the nuggets we grew this summer, but i have to admit, they smelled funky. We’ll see how the beer tastes in a few minutes when we get ready to transfer.
In the next few months, I really want to get the materials together to start doing all grain. Like the keg system, it’s an expensive investment that over time pays for itself. All grain is cheaper than extract brewing.
Speaking of beer, I think I’m goign to go downstairs and get one.

I’d switch to all grain myself, but I generally only brew about 4 batches a year due to laziness, so I’m not sure I’d even do that many if the process were more involved. Although apparently most all-grain brewers work in 10-gallon batches instead of 5-gallon ones, so I guess I’d get just as much beer in half the number of batches.
