GOP Spokesman: 4,000 People Had to Die

This is truly disgusting.

MATTHEWS: You guys sold the war as a nuclear threat to the United States. A nuclear weapon was going to be delivered by a nuclear delivery device. It was going to take the weapon and drop it here. You sold every trick you could to get us into this war. Now you’re back pedaling. And I do find it astounding. The Vice President of the United States is —

GAFFNEY: How do you feel, Chris?

MATTHEWS: This is how I feel. Four thousand people are dead because of how you feel. And Frank, you’re wrong about this because you don’t even seem to care your facts were wrong.

GAFFNEY: Chris, there were —

MATTHEWS: You admit your facts were wrong and it doesn’t bother you.

GAFFNEY: May I state my position rather than you stating it? May I do that? My position is that it’s regrettable that any Americans died. It is regrettable that they had to die, but I believe they did have to die.

Yes, they had to die so George Bush could play out his father complex and Dick Cheney needed to funnel some business to Halliburton. 4000 people had to die in a war that had nothing to do with September 11. 4000 sons and daughters of decent hardworking Ameicans got shipped off to Iraq because a bunch of neo-con assholes like William Kristol, Richard Perle, Don Rumsfled, Dick Cheney, George Bush, and a host of other living, walking, talking lumps of semi-sentient feces wanted to play soldier in the desert. 4000 dead in a nation-building experiment that never needed to be undertaken. 4000 dead, and what do we have to show for it, other than our own transformation into a marginalized, rogue nation, a debtor state that’s practically owned by China, with unemployment rates that will soon be historic. the war has made us weaker not stronger, and I don’t mean just in terms of the economy: I mean in terms of military readiness, in terms of mobility.I mean in terms of domestic security, when adults are out of work, houses have no value, and cities like the one I live in foreclose on everyone’s future because there’s no money left.

End the war. Lord knows I have no expectation at all that the instigators will never meet justice, but for god’s sake end the fucking war already.

“The other day they waited, the sky was dark and faded,
Solemnly they stated, ‘He has to die.’”

Nice words for lyrics, not so much for government officials.

I had this on in the background and almost pissed myself when he said that. What a fucking douchebag. Sorry for the language, but seriously.
