Donno Shaves His Beard
My buddy Donno, responsible for a couple of the tattoos on my arms and legs, is shaving his beard:
My friend’s wife died of breast cancer this summer, not only widowering him, but also leaving their 6 children motherless.
Even if you don’t have kids, I’m sure all of you realize that having them is expensive as hell. Having SIX of them must be a financial nightmare, especially on what a humble street shop tattoo artist earns these days. A fund for the kids has been set up.
Having 2 of my own, I don’t have all that much leftover I can give… BUT… I have a fundraiser idea.
It was inspired by my brother Ray [Donno's brother, not mine. -ed.] who, years ago, got sponsors to donate money for him to cut his ponytail off.
Well, my ponytail went years and years ago. HOWEVER… most people I know anymore- including my WIFE- have never seen me without a beard. Think about that for a second- I’ve been with Judi for like 9 years and she’s never actually seen my chin! SO…Youse guys (and many others, hopefully) pledge the dough, and at my next gig, this Saturday night, October 25th- I will shave my beard off ON STAGE!
I’ll even video tape it and post it on YouTube.
I’ve distributed pledge sheets around town, and got everyone I know to pledge SOMETHING. I’m coming to you guys cuz y’all have shown yourselves to be awesome people over and over again. I, and more importantly, Kelly and his 6 kids, really really really appreciate any help you can give.
