The GOP: Community Organizers Are Worthless

If there was one message I took away from the RNC, it’s that my friends, my neighbors, and my colleagues at work are worthless.

My neighbor Carolyn, who organized a block watch in response to last year’s spate of shootings, is worthless.

My neighbor Miss Gates, who makes sure we all participate in monthly block cleanings? Her efforts are pointless.

Last year, my employers organized a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign foir vital domestic violence services in Philadelphia, including a mile-long march led by local media personalities, to draw attention to the problem of abuse: I guess that was useless.

The guy next door who volunteers his time to coach youth football in our troubled neighborhood is wasting his time and doesn’t contribute anything to society.

For that matter, every single Republican or Democrat who’s participated in a get out the vote effort has just seen his or her work smeared. So have the people who volunteer in soup kitchens and those who deliver meals on wheels to seniors. Those good people who volunteer at election time to run the polls? Saps. Useless.

Sarah Palin is as stupid and offensive as she is shrill and corrupt. And she has some nerve telling me and a whole lot of people just like me, republican and democrat alike, that community organizing is worthless.

billmon on DailyKos points out that this is a dogwhistle. “Community organizer” = “ghetto rabble-rouser”. Yet another reminder that Obama is black.
