Who’s the Anti-Semite Now?

If you type “jeremiah Wright Anti-semitic” into google you get 27,700 results, mostly to right wing sites

Here’s some textbook stupid from Richard “I am Stupid” Cohen:

Barack Obama is a member of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama’s spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright’s daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said “truly epitomized greatness.” That man is Louis Farrakhan.

Maybe for Wright and some others, Farrakhan “epitomized greatness.” For most Americans, though, Farrakhan epitomizes racism, particularly in the form of anti-Semitism.

Here’s a nutball:

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose office adorns a Black Power Statue at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, is a racist, anti-Semite, ministering Black Liberation Theology to his congregation where Barack Obama belongs.

… and on and on and on. All of this, by the way, was inspired by Wright giving an award to Louis Farrakhan, and is I guess understandable, because Farrakahn is something of a douchebag.

So you can imagine, I’ll be waiting for the same people to denounce Palin’s pastor, Larry Kroon, who invired noted self-loathing Jew david Brickner of “Jews for Jesus to speak at their church two weeks ago, an event Palin attended:

Brickner then explained that Jesus and his disciples were themselves Jewish.

“The Jewish community, in particular, has a difficult time understanding this reality,” he said.
Brickner’s mission has drawn wide criticism from the organized Jewish community, and the Anti-Defamation League accused them in a report of “targeting Jews for conversion with subterfuge and deception.”

Brickner also described terrorist attacks on Israelis as God’s “judgment of unbelief” of Jews who haven’t embraced Christianity.

“Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. It’s very real. When [Brickner's son] was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment — you can’t miss it.”

Palin was in church that day, Kroon said, though he cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her.

“He cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her.” That’s interesting, because early this year, I watched as Wright’s views were attributed to Barack Obama, forcing the candidate to give two separate speeches on race and religion, one in which he denounced his former pastor. Could someone explain to me why I shouldn’t attribute Brickner’s views to Palin? Or why the video documenting the sermon was scrubbed from youtube?
