Amber Alert!!!

Where is Senator Barack Obama, presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee, in the fight to save our Fourth Amendment rights?

How can we expect Senator Obama to lead our country if he hides like a scared little bunny from tough issues which, when you think about it, aren’t so tough. How hard can it be to stand up for the Fourth Amendment of our Constitution?

The Fourth Amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons [online], houses [including computers], papers [including digital paper, like email], and effects [including digital effects, like cell phone calls, documents, and Google searches] , against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

What part of this is so hard for Mr. Obama to understand and defend? I thought he worked as a civil rights lawyer and taught Constitutional law?

Could it possibly be that the change candidate is really more of the same-old/same-old (not that Hillary Clinton is much better).

I wonder where Barack could be…

Well, at least my Rep, Chaka Fattah, has consistently voted against this FISA bill. Now I’ve even forgiven him for colluding with the right-wing Republican vampire Tom Delay to re-inflict a feeding tube into the practically dead Terri Schaivo.

My favorite part of “The Meaning of Life” is when the grim reaper came to dinner to collect the victims of the salmon mousse. He pointed a long bony finger at the Americans and told them to shut-up, they talk too much. He said, “You Americans say, I want to tell you this and I want to tell you that….” We are ALL talk and no action, it’s been obvious to the rest of the world for quite some time now. Even the Bank of Scotland commericals lately make the same point. While we sit around and talk amongst ourselves, others are taking action.
I asked my husband yesterday what he thought would be the tipping point for a genuine uprising of the American public. He said, “An attack on Iran.” This is sooo depressing. Maybe I need to revisit the old Monty Python movies, they were actualy pretty profound. Maybe while I’m at it, I can find my sense of humor, I’ve lost it somewhere along the way.
