It’s Been Some Time!
It’s been awhile since I posted, and I apologize for my recent absence.
I’ve been kind of uninterested in blogging lately. Although I’ve been commenting at others’ sites, I have no interest in joining the “Clinton/Obama Sucks/Rules” battles going on at several other sites.
I’ve meant to post pictures of Sam from his last visit, but I haven’t been up to it. Probably depressive aftermath from his last visit, although in general I feel OK (but I gotta admit, i am VERY much looking forward to my first therapy session since my shrink got back from maternity leave).
Anything else that’s going on in my life isn’t really blog-fodder at this point. I try to keep any mention of work off the blog, so that’s out. There’s only so much you can write about beer and brewing (in case you’re wondering, we have a german ale in the fridge, one in the secondary fermenter dry-hopping, and one in the primary fermenter).
I dropped by Eschacon one evening this weekend, and it was… interesting. Hammell on Trial was awesome. Rude Pundit? Well, I get the humor of a line like “That nigger’s CRAAZY” in reference to Obama’s presidential aspirations, but when the audience is a bunch of middle-aged liberal white people and the only black people are the two guys working the bar, it’s the kind of line that makes me want to crawl under a rock and hide.
Speaking of Eschacon, Jane Hamsher is really strikingly attractive in person. That’s probably going to get me in trouble with someone for being a lookist or whatever, but I don’t care.
I spent most of Sunday puttering around the house. Christina’s been sick, so I was all domestic-n-shit. I swallowed my phobia of power-tools (I always get images of the circular saw amputating my fingers or hand), and finished building the raised beds out back. Now if I can only get a pickup truck to go get the compost and soil, we can plant by Saturday.
I might have a trip to Austin Texas coming up, thanks to low fares at Southwest. It’ll only be a weekend, but a respite from Filthadelphia would be welcome.
So yeah… not much to say, not much going on. If anything excitring happens, I’ll be sure to blog.

I’m glad your back. I’ve been kind of bored of the blogs lately too. Maybe some of it is just spring fever, I can’t wait to go out and mess around in the yard. The kids were on spring break last week, so I recruited them to help me paint the kitchen. What a difference a new coat of paint makes.
My husband mentioned trying our hand at home-brewing beer. I told him about your stories of your “holiday” selection during Thanksgiving and Christmas. We would love to do it, but talking about it and actually doing it are two very different things. If we muster up the energy to do it, I may hit you up for advice.
Enjoy Austin! I hear you can catch a great variety of live music there. You must report back.
