In Which I Agree With Kos
Kos is right: Clinton and Edwards are full of shit.
Especially Clintoon, who apparently supports Lieberman the liar. You know, the guy who promised to help get Democrats elected and is no supporting John McCain for President?
It’s no secret I’m not a huge fan of Obama, but if I have to choose between the two, I would gladly take Obama over Clintoon, who will bring back all the DLC clowns that fucked the party up throughout the 1990s, the triangulating bullshit corporate whores (and perrennial election losers) Terry McCauliffe and Al From. If it’s gonna be four more years of that crap, you might as well give me a Republican. I can’t stand that corporate DLC dogshit Republican-lite neo-liberal fuckery.
What surprises me is that Edwards is playing along with this line of attack. I would have hoped that Edwards, who is unfortunately not going to win the Presidency (as much as I would like to have him there), would try to shore up Obama’s support against the corporate kakistocracy representented by the Clintoons.
I also happen to agree with Obama that Reagan and the Republicans WERE the party of ideas: they were awful horrible ideas that they successfully implemented, and the Democrats don’t seem to have been successful at challenging them. In fact, in Bill Clintoon’s case, he embraced some of them like welfare reform and anti-worker trade policies. For that matter it drives me batshit crazy when people call George W. Bush a failed president. He’s been horrible for the country, and the world, in the present time and the long term, but as president he got (and continues to get) pretty much everything he wanted, from a war in Iraq, to massive tax cuts, to the dismantling of our Fourth Amendment Rights, to the [unfunded] federalization of the public school system, to a blatantly stacked Supreme Court. Bush has been highly successful, to the country’s detriment.
So fuck you, Hillary Clintoon (and for that that matter kiss my ass John Edwards even if I DO support you). Someone like Obama who despite his faults has a solid record as a progressive doesn’t need two Republican-lite corporate whores like you and your husband casting aspersions at him. Not with records like yours.
