Why No One Cares About Biden
Matt Bai, in a colum inappropriately titled “Joe Biden, Briefly” wonders why Biden can’t get more traction as a candidate. You can go read it for yourself.
For starters, there is NOTHING brief about Joe Biden: I was surprised that he didn’t show up to help Dodd derail; the FISA legislation, because there is NOTHING that Joe Biden likes more than flapping his gums. His mouth is like a perpetual motion machine, and if you could harness it to a dynamo, this country’s energy woes would be over.
Secondly, the man has a history of plagiarism, which knocked him out as a serious presidential contender in 1987. Once you’re tagged as a loser and a liar, that tag tends to stick.
Thirdly, he keeps making outrageous racial remarks. About Obama: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” About Indian immigrants: “You CANNOT go into a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts without an Indian accent.”.
Fourth, despite the reporter’s claims that “his obvious expertise in foreign policy have often made him appear to be a statesman among strivers” and that “when he talks about Iraq, he does so with singular credibility in the Democratic field”, the fact is that Biden’s partition plan is a recipe for genocide, civil war, and ethnic cleansing. Then there’s Biden’s record of looking out for the little guy, about which all I have to say is “Bankruptcy Reform of 2005″ (aka, HA HA and HA HA Part 2). For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, it was Joe Biden who worked so hard to make it impossible for consumer to obtain bankruptcy relief from credit card debt (while protecting that recourse for corporations), which helped fuel the foreclosure crisis and now seems to be imploding before our very eyes as creditors find that even after walking away from the mortgage they STILL can’t pay down the MasterCard.
So to recap: a tendency to blather; tagged a loser and liar since 1987; racially offensive remarks; dumb foreign policy ideas; and he fucked the working class with a sharp stick.
Maybe Matt Bai needs to find a new career.
