And the Descent Continues
OK. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written much of anything about politics.
* On Tuesday, it came out that Iran stopped it’s nuclear weapons program in 2003. Bush apparently heard about this in August, but continued to rattle his tiny little pink saber. In yesterday’s press conference, Bush used the same pathetic tactic he used when the Weapons of Mass Destruction failed to appear. Now, as then, he began talking about “programs to develop the knowledge for nukular weapons.” Later today, he called on Iran to disclose more information about the program that no longer exists.
*Mike Huckabee, who apparently set a rapist free during his term as Governor of Arkansas, now says the
* Hillary Clinton accused Barack Obama of being power-hungry, based on two separate essays he wrote when he was 5. Those essays? “What I Want to Be When I Grow Up.” Clinton has also accused Barack Obama of registering out-of-state students at Iowa colleges and universities, saying the Iowa Caucus should be for Iowans. By that logic, I shouldn’t have voted for her husband when I lived in New Haven, since I was only there for college at the time, nor should I have voted at all the entire time I lived in South Deerfield while I attended UMass.
* Meanwhile the economy crashes around us. Atrios is calling it Big Shit Pile, or for families, Jenga. It’s about the only thing really interesting to me right now, and I’m nowhere near qualified to write about our insane financial system.
So yeah, there’s a reason i haven’t had much to write about lately. It’s like watching the fucking circus.
