Total F-ing Destruction
I went for The Freeze, but the best band of the night was Total Fucking Destruction. I’m not usually into the really grindy hardcore, but these guys were amazing. The drummer was particularly awesome to watch: he got an impossibly enormous sound out of an impossibly tiny kit that included only a kick, a snare and some cymbals, and when he played it was as if Animal took over the body of Professor John Frink.
And I am doubly sad that I didn’t get to see them when my friend Brian was still playing with them. I am TRULY an idiot.
