Iraqi Women Raped at Abu Ghraib
UPDATE
From alex in comments:
Brendan-
I don’t think those photos show an actual rape by U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
I remember photos from a military rape fetish website being picked up by Al-Jazeera in ‘04 or so when Abu Ghraib broke. I think these are from the same photographer or website:
1.The uniforms are wrong- those are the old woodland camo for temperate climates. U.S. Marines and soldiers would be issued desert (tan & brown) camo in the Gulf theatre.
2. What’s with the Shinola facepaint?
3. There are no unit patches, symbols of rank or name tags on their jackets, or the velcro patches that they attach to.
Alex is actually correct, now that I think about it. I posted because I’ve been reading Steven D’s stuff for a long time at booman, and it’s generally proved accurate. But Alex, you make totally good points here.
On the other hand, the fact that this shit is out there at all is disgusting and it needs to be exposed for the hateful crap it is.
I’m not saying that U.S. troops haven’t raped Iraqi civilians (or even U.S. servicewomen). I’ve read affidavits that made my skin crawl about what contract interrogators did. There have been convictions of U.S. troops raping and killing Iraqis.
But these aren’t photos of that.
By spreading easily discredited evidence, it allows good evidence to be painted with the same brush, and truthful accounts of war crimes to be swept under the rug by our populace. It’s not like we don’t have enough other reasons to stop the war.
Totally agreed. And because I DON’T want to be spreading discreditable stories, I’ve taken the post down.

I tried to leave a comment before, but I had problems logging in. I was going to agree with Alex. I saw a “soldier rape” video years ago that was all over the internet. It was basically the video version of the pictures you had posted on here. People were understandably upset by it, however, no one pointed out, like Alex did, that the uniforms were completely void of names, ranks, branch of service etc. In reality, it was just the most poorly produced porno. And ‘poorly produced’ might even be an understatement.
