The Sheer Arrogance
The worst thing about this whole MoveOn condemnation vote, so far as I am concerned, is the sheer arrogance of the Senate, believing they can simply cast aside like so much trash the organization through which I, and millions of others, have made the extraordinary voluntary contributions, financial and boots-on-the-ground for the reinvigoration of the Democrat Party.
There’s a really mean joke that I remember from high school: what do a fat chick and a moped have in common?
They’re both fun to ride until a friend sees you. The Democrats see their base, US, as the fat chick, fun to fuck in private, but christ who wants to be seen with her in public? It couldn’t be more obvious: the Democrats were happy to take our money to get elected, then promptly broke every promise they made to us, and in a shorter time than the GOP broke their promises to THEIR base! For chrissakes, the freakin’ cuckoo bananas people got Alito and Roberts and a potentially endless war! What the fuck have we gotten other than a piddling increase in the minimum wage, which as a salaried worker doesn’t really affect me?
There’s a saying that goes “People may forget what you said or did, but they won’t forget how you made them feel.” The decision of the Democrats to participate in a meaningless sham vote that condemned a large percentage of their base made me feel like my party doesn’t care what i think. And every time I see that envelope in the mail asking me for money when my party hasn’t accomplished any of its promises, I feel like they think I’m just some dumb slut who will spread for a couple of beers. I feel like they think I’m worthless. I feel like they don’t care what I think, even as they claim to represent me, funded by my taxes.
Senators and Representatives make $165,200 per year, get the month of August off, and almost none of them have children serving in Iraq. When John “None of My Kids Are in Iraq So Of Course Its a Small Priced” Boehner shot off his mouth in a truly offensive statement you heard nothing. MoveOn has not only done more to end the war than ANY of these cowards, they’ve (we’ve) often been the only people backing Democrats in the face of media and partisan onslaught over Iraq. And this is what we get in return.
“Ha ha, you think I actually liked you? You stupid bitch, it’s cause you sucked my dick and your dad has a lot of money. I was only using you.”
That’s what the Democrat Party has been doing. They’ve been using us.
That’s upside down: the Party, not to mention the government, is the people’s tool. I f anyone does the using, it should be US.
I think we’re on to you too, Democrats. I think you have some trouble coming soon.
