In Which I Praise Barry Manilow
I never thought I would be saying this ever, but hip hip hooray for Barry Manilow, who backed out of an appearance on Clucking Hen Party The View because he refused to be interviewed by right wing chickenhead Elizabeth Hasselbeck:
Manilow, who has been on the show before – once he hugged Hasselbeck – was to be on today’s show. But the visit was scrapped when he asked to chat with anyone but Hasselbeck.
“Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request, so I bowed out,” Manilow said in a statement. “It’s really too bad because I’ve always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs.”

On the other hand, there is no way I’m going to post a Manilow youtube. I’ll give the guy props, but I have standards here.

I love that right wing doll! Everything about Elizabeth Hasselbeck is just wonderful!
You never hear about Manilow going out with women, so I figure he’s likely a swish. Maybe he’s intimidated by good-looking women, now and always.
I think the “compromise my beliefs” remark had nothing to do with sexuality, normal or otherwise, so his beliefs must center on attempted suppression of right wing free speech. (Didn’t work.)
