HA HA! Harry Reid Wants a “Do-Over”

talk about your pathetic mewling: after allowing an expansion of FISA that gives the corrupt Mr. Bush more power (already illegally exercised) to spy on Americans, with Alberto “I Dunno” Gonzalez running the program, spectacular failure Harry Reid, a man who makes Tom Daschle look like Cassius fucking Clay, wants a do-over. A mulligan, as it were.

When the Senate reconvenes in September, I fully support your committees working expeditiously together and in a bipartisan manner to develop a longer-term statutory change that better serves American national security interests and comports with the Constitution and proper judicial and congressional oversight. I would like to see the full Senate consider as soon as possible a bill reported by your committees that addresses the deficiencies in the recently-enacted law and any other matter you believe must be addressed.

Mr. Reid’s efforts will meet a veto. He will not have the votes to override it.

As clammyc points out at the Big Orange Hate Site,

And if the Ninth Circuit thinks that is a peachy keen argument, or even if it calls bullshit on that outrageously arrogant and childish argument – it will go on from here. The Supreme Court will either deny cert (more likely, to me) if the government wins, or will grant cert really just needing one vote to effectively replace the text of the 4th Amendment with one word and a date:

“Stricken”, 2007

Now, who in the Senate can say that voting against Roberts, Alito and Gonzales while still voting for cloture on their “upperdown votes” wasn’t such a big deal?

Clammy is correct: even Scalia is outraged over Chief Justice Roberts’ open disrespect for precedent,/a>: the court will argue that if there’s no evidence (and who has access to secret evidence?) then there’s no harm done. No harm, no case. NEXT!

Thanks Democrats. Thanks Harry, you fucking clown. Thanks Nancy, you asshole. And thanks to every miserable Blue Dog Democrat that had a huge mouthful of Bush Balls for breakfast. I’d wish cancer on you, but that’s too good for you.
