Carpal or Something
Last night for no apparent reason, my right forearm seized up as if with a muscle spasm. It hurts to rotate my forearm in either direction, so much so that even after taking a prescription 600-milligram ibuprofen, I still woke up every time I rolled over last night. I took another 600 milligrams this morning and there has been no effect. The pain is fairly localized to what i believe is the middle of my radius, but occasionally flares close to that area directly above the wrist. Sometimes, the pain disappears and is replaced with a dull numbness that reaches into the back of my hand.
I have searched my mind and I don’t know what caused this or why it would appear so suddenly. It’s certainly not bass or guitar playing: neither la Resistance (oh, and Stu, I get the cd tomorrow, resend me your mailing address) nor the band currently called “Romantic Explosion” have gigged recently, and I haven’t been playing as much at home. Both my bass and my acoustic guitar need set-ups, and playing metal had some particularly serious effects, but on my left hand. By the same token, I didn’t do a lot of blogging over the weekend, not that typing causes me too much trouble.
I still don’t know what it is, and I’m making a doctor’s appointment for Wednesday. Ouch!
