Schlitz Creek
As I announced last week, I’m playing in a country band that is trying to come up with a name. We’re more honky-tonk than old-time or bluegrass, so we’re kinda leaning toward something that reflects bars, night-life, drinking, cheating, and sinning. Last week we thought we’d found our name with “The Schlitz”, but at our last-minute gig at Fergie’s this past Saturday, our steel player improved on it: Schlitz Creek. Not only does it have a nice ring to it, it makes creating fliers very very easy.
Whaddya think?

The honky tonk bars are big on the “yard beers” now. Schlitz, Falstaff, Pabst Blue Ribbon, all of the stuff grandpa used to drink. Maybe because it’s cheep, nostalgic or people are just tired of the same old name brands that college kids have been drinking for the last twenty years (boring). I kind of like PBR myself. Maybe if you drink too much yard beer at your show you will be up Schlitz Creek without a paddle. OK, that was bad, sorry.

Actually, we were jokign that the first album could be called “You’re Up”, and the sequel qould be “Without a Paddle”.
Unfortunately, we just found out that someone else has the name. Maybe we’ll go back to just The Schlitz.

how about Schmidt’s Creek? It’s the ‘official beer of the American Sportsman’ and even has the philly connection.
