I don’t know Steve Gilliard personally but I read his blog everyday. His insights into military history, Iraq, and Viet Nam are always deeply thought provoking, and incredibly accurate. His writing on Black-White politics, especially in relation to New York City and the police, is nothing short of inspired.
He had open heart surgery this past week, and things have gotten complicated.
