Roar of the Paper Tiger
Grrr! Arlen Specter’s fired up!
WASHINGTON – A Senate Republican on Tuesday directly challenged
President Bush’s declaration that “I am the decision-maker” on issues of war.“I would suggest respectfully to the president that he is not the sole decider,” Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said during a hearing on Congress’ war powers amid an increasingly harsh debate over
Iraq war policy. “The decider is a shared and joint responsibility,” Specter said.
GRRRR! Listen to him roar, and try to forget how he voted to give the Pweznit dictatorial powers when he supported the Military Commissions Act of 2006! Then, try to forget how, after sputtering and spouting about his intention to stop the Pweznit’s illegal, warrantless wiretapping program, Arlen wrote legislation that gave the Pweznit everything his heart desired, and then some including retroactive immunity.
GRR! Listen to the self-titled “Defender of the Constitution” defend the Constitution he wiped his ass with not even 6 months ago. Honestly, it’s a little late for these kind of histrionics by Pennsylvania’s senior citiz– I mean Senator. Like the rest of the Rubber-stamp Republicans, Arlen didn’t do diddley to rein in his President for the past six years. Oh sure, he talked a lot: if there’s one thing Arlen knows how to do, it’s flap his lips and look impressive, like collared lizards do when they’re threatened. But when it came to actually doing something to back up his words? Time and time again, Snarlin’ Arlen the paper tiger all of a sudden had an appointment with his litter box.
And here’s his toilet paper:

Update: Here, Arlen shows his true loyalty, and it’s…. Arlen!
Now that it’s OK for the GOP to hate on Bush, we can expect to see Arlen exercise his vaunted courage.
