No PCP jokes, please. I only saw James once, and the man was a force of nature. Watching him perform on the steps of the Art Museum about two years ago, I was stunned to realize he was 70. The show, if I recall, went on and on, longer than I had expected.
The man had soul: he was Super Bad!

i saw him at the palladium in nyc back in oh probably ‘81 or ‘82…incredible show…not a soul was in their seats and the floor was slippery from everyone’s sweat. i never saw anything like that, and never will. he was indeed a force of nature.
