Thanksgiving Sam
parenthood November 28th, 2006
I have a long piece brewing about Sam’s most recent visit: that shoudl be published later today (or tonight if I’m not too shitfaced after Drinking Liberally).
In the meantime, here are some photos to tide you over.

That’s the lovely Christina behind him, as well as my brother’s youngest son Elliott, with his mom Dreya.

Sam was so excited when the Iraqis voted, he STILL insists on making me pull his purple finger. “Smells like Democracy!” he says..

I don’t even know what to add here. “Meeting of the Minds”? “Mini-me”? “Vee haf vays uf makink you talk, Fraulein”?

Jaysis! If you ever had ANY suspicion as to whether it was the milkman who sired young Sam, these photos — especially that last one — lay it to rest. Indisputably, Sam is his father’s son. It is remarkable. Probably also helps that, also in the last photo, it appears that he got into Dad’s stash…

I believe in that last one they were actually having a deep philosophical discussion about whether or not Sam should fill up on cranberry sauce and sopressetta before Thanksgiving dinner even came out.
