Raj Bhakta: Robo-Calling Scumbag
The recorded voice was that of a distraught, tearful woman.
“I had an abortion performed on me,” the woman said in a shaky voice, adding that she wanted to tell “the truth about Allyson Schwartz.”
“The truth is that 18 lawsuits have been filed against Miss Allyson Schwartz’s clinic, including assault, battery, negligence, perforated bowels and uteruses,” the woman said, “and even abortions performed without consent of her patients.
[snip]
The call was paid for by Republican congressional candidate Raj Peter Bhakta, who is running against U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz.
[snip]
“There’s no elegant way, no soft way to convey the facts of the matter,” Bhakta said. “People have a right to know about the lawsuits alleging assault, battery, and abortions performed without permission.”
First, I’ll state the obvious: Raj Bhakta is a scumbag for who no tactic is too sleazy, and certainly does not merit elected office.
Secondly, I have to ask where in Pennsylvania are “abortions performed without permission”? From Bhakta’s point of view, it seems women don’t seek out abortions themselves: rather, they’re dragged kicking and screaming to the clinic by doctors intent on killing babies.
This brings me to a third question: WHAT FUCKING PLANET DOES RAJ BAKHTA LIVE ON? In real life, abortions are a pain in the ass to obtain in Pennsylvania.
PA abortion laws include: an unenforceable spousal notification (struck down by the courts); a parental notification statute; a mandatory, and enforced, waiting period; concience exemptions for doctors; gag rules that prevent state funded personnel from counseling abortion or giving abortion referrals; prohibit use of public facilities to perform abortions (which means abortion is more expensive, since it’s obtained from a private provider); and prohibition of insurance coverage for abortion in certain circumstances when public funds are used or public employees are insured. Furthermore, and I know this from personal experience, women in PA who want an abortion have to sit through a video basically outlining that abortion is murder.
Bakhta and the rest of the anti-abortion dingalings like to pretend that women don’t seek out abortion of their own free will: note that almost every effort to criminalize abortion in the US punishes the doctors, never the women who obtain them, as if the woman didn’t seek out the abortion and make the decision herself to end the pregnancy. This is incoherent: if abortion is truly murder then the woman who tries to obtain an abortion is no better than someone who puts out a contract on someone, and the doctor is nothing more than the hitman. By this logic, a large number of mafia goons should be out of prison. Hell, Charles Manson should be freed if you buy this logic: after all, he didn’t commit the crime, he only asked that Sharon Tate et al be slaughtered.
I’m glad I don’t live in Buttfuck, I mean Bakhta’s, district. If I received one of those calls, I would have gone down to his campaign headquarters and punched someone in the face.
Abortion is not fun; it’s not easy to obtain; it’s a last resort and an emergency measure; and nobody feels good about getting one.
Deal with it, Bakhta. Oh, and go fuck yourself for harrassing women, ASSHOLE.

[...] As we head into the home stretch, I think we have an emerging winner for the worst scum-sucking Republican robo-call (and God knows, it’s a crowded field). And it’s from Philadelphia: The recorded voice was that of a distraught, tearful woman. [...]

As a proud gay man, I resent your use of the word: ‘Buttfuck’ to describe Raj’s home district. The term, as it was used in the past, implies that it’s being done against the receiver’s will. It’s interesting that you used it in an entry about outdated morals and denegration of women’s rights because that term sure is past it’s prime, and denegrating to gay men. In fact, ‘butt fucking’ is quite enjoyable if you do it right. Besides, no self-respecting gay man would waste their time on that jackass, Raj. He’s just another desperate republican take pot shots to influence voters.

Hi Mark:
hey man, I’m close with your sister Susie, and she’ll tell you right off the bat that I have no problems at all with gay men, or with buttfucking for that matter. I’ve been known to do my share of buttfucking. More than my share actually…
I was using “buttfuck” in the same way we say “fuck you” as an insult, even when we all know how pleasurable fucking is. I also think he’s a royal dick, even though I am quite fond of my own penis.
Also, I was using buttfuck to describe Bakhta himself, not the district he wants to represent.
Thanks for visiting, please drop by whenever. Your sister is wicked awesome.
