Woodstown Photos

bluegrass festival, friends September 5th, 2006

No pirate costumes for me this time around, and unless someone has pictures of Lucie’s bachelorette party, you won’t get to see me half-naked.

The Woodstown festival is where we have our Grillbillies’ Thanksgiving. Festival season in the northeast is pretty much over by Labor Day, and many of us won’t see each other until the next summer, so we have a huge feast (or rather, huger than usual) at Woodstown: this year saw seven deep-fried turkeys, enough mashed potatoes to feed an army, salads of evey variety, and a pile of desserts. Needless to say, most of this is cooked right out in the field. You’ve never seen anything like it in your life: Grillbillies manage to build entire kitchens, showers, bathrooms, and even kitchen sinks out of pvc. It’s like a benevolent Mongol horde.
As for the Village People lineup, Matty was dressed as a pilgrim, Marcera had his Indian costume on, and when the security guard wnadered by for dinner, we knew something had to be done.

Pickin’ with Rick Marcera (Chris’s dad), Geoff Gay on dobro, and an unidentified banjo player.

  1. Geoff Gay Says:

The unidentified banjo player in this pic is George Campanile, from the band “Second Wind.”

    Cheers!
